I decided to scrap the time we met up with Halley and Peter (our Dutch friends) for the first time back in 2003. It's so rare that one makes good strong friends, especially as an adult, so I thought that the time should be remembered.
Like the card, you were to use paint, flowers, a metal embellishment and a magpie find.
I almost didn't do this one as I was really stuck for ideas and the paint thing was really putting me off. In the end I dug out some emulsion paint I had left over from decorating my spare room and just inked it up to darken it slightly. The title is hand cut and diamond glazed and then has embossing powders sprinkled over it to give it a matt effect and I love how this turned out. My magpie find was a coke can ring pull which I heat embossed to match the title.
This LO was a real venture for me as it's probably the 'free-est' (sp!) LO I've ever done. My work is always super neat and I really struggle to let myself go, creatively. My art teacher at college used to despair of me, lol! I know it's still very 'ordered', but hey a girl's got to start somewhere. It's also the fastest LO I've ever done, as it had to be handed in today and as I'd left it till the last minute, I had half a day to finish it. I know most people could get 3 LOs done in the time it normally takes me to do one, but I'm not exactly a 'speed scrapper'.
Please be sweet and share the love. Leave a comment, like my Facebook page for regular updates or follow me on Pinterest.
